Community Cafe– Church members gather to cook and serve dinner to members of the community who are in need on the 4th Friday of the month from 4-6pm. The community cafe is located at 417 W. Pettis St. in Sedalia.
Samaritan’s Purse– After sharing the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus said “Go and do likewise.” That is the mission of Samaritan’s Purse—to follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel.
Operation Christmas Child– Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Maplewood members contributed items for shoeboxes and sent several hundred of these to children in need.
Compassion International-Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Today, Compassion helps more than 1.2 million children in 26 countries.
Gideon’s -The mission of The Gideons International is to win the lost for Christ, and our unique method is the distribution of Bibles and New Testaments in selected streams of life. Gideons have placed or distributed more than 1.7 billion complete Bibles and New Testaments in more than 190 countries around the world . . . so far. Birthright – This ministry offers love, friendship, and support to women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant. We help women make a realistic plan for the future. For more information about our local Birthright organization, contact Marjie Wester or the church office.
Meals on Wheels – This provides meals to seniors who need them each day. Meals are delivered directly to the homes of seniors whose mobility is limited. Maplewood Church has several volunteers who deliver meals 2 or 3 weeks each year. Contact the church office for more information.
Quilt Ministry – The Quilt Ministry usually meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at Maplewood Church in the C.E. Bldg., Rm. #3. They have donated quilts and other items to Birthright, Ronald McDonald House in Columbia, The Veterans Home in Warrensburg, and Show Me Christian Youth Home. Virgie Jackson & Jacie Gordon are the contacts for this ministry.
Ponca Bible Camp – Ponca Bible Camp is a non-denominational Christian Camp located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, in Ponca, Arkansas. PBC holds six weeks of Summer Camp every June and July.
