Maplewood Church is an Evangelical, Independent Bible Fellowship begun by a group of four families who met in the small Maplewood Grange Hall, east of Sedalia, back in 1965. Stonecroft Ministry, a church planting organization, initially assisted the church with pastoral leadership. The church body soon outgrew the Grange Hall and built the present sanctuary located 4 miles east of Sedalia in Monsees Lake Estates.

Our Worship Team seeks to help us please the Lord by presenting Him with worship that has contemporary and traditional elements. The preaching at Maplewood is expository – that means that it seeks to explain and apply God’s Word in the lives of His people. Maplewood is Evangelical. That means that we believe the Bible tells us the story of Mankind’s Fall into sin and the historical outworking of God’s Plan of Redemption through Jesus. Because of the grace and love of the Creator, He sent His Son – Jesus Christ – to offer Himself in payment for our sin. It remains for us to come to Him in faith – trusting Him and His death to be the sufficient payment for our sins. Jesus is coming again, and one day He will restore this broken world to its original loveliness – creating a New Heavens and a New Earth. His Plan of Redemption will be complete, and believers will enjoy Him forever!

With about 300 members and regular attenders, Maplewood maintains a strong family-oriented ministry with vibrant children and youth programs and family-centered activities scheduled throughout the year. With the Lord’s blessing, we have over 13 acres of land with multiple buildings. We support Ponca Bible Camp (in Arkansas) for children and youth. Applewood Christian School meets in our facilities. World missions are strongly emphasized, and the church plays a role in the support of some 11 missionaries in 4 countries, and still counting! Maplewood seeks to minister to Sedalia, Smithton and the surrounding communities for the glory of the Lord!

Maplewood Church is an independent, evangelical, non-charismatic, fellowship of believers. Its members fellowship fully and heartily with other evangelical believers. Visit our “What We Believe” page to learn more about our beliefs.
